We talked with two more members of our team who provide key support services for residents at Minto Gardens.
Tell us a bit about yourselves:
S: My name is Sharon and I’m the Retirement Living Coordinator at Minto Gardens. I started working with Anglicare in June 2021.
J: I’m Jeanette and I am the Village Concierge at Minto Gardens. Previously my role was based around sales administration support and I was the face of our Macarthur Square display shop.
How would you describe the purpose of your role?
S: I’m here to assist with the smooth running of the village office while assisting the Village Manager. The heart of my role is to ensure all residents are recognised and made to feel welcome and supported. In a practical way, this means ensuring all necessary administrative support functions and resident requests are actioned promptly, while having a bit of fun along the way.
J: I’m here to make a positive difference for our residents by helping them with day to day village life. This includes managing enquiries, packages and best of all, organising resident activities and events!
Outside of work, how do you like to spend your time?
S: I enjoy spending time with my husband, my daughter, and my dog – who thinks she is my second child! Also reading, listening to music, cooking and attending theatre productions/concerts.
J: Usually I like to have coffee and brunch with someone from my family or going out with close friends for dinner and drinks.
What’s your favourite dessert?
S: I have a savoury tooth rather than a sweet tooth so this is a hard one… it would have to be crème brûlée followed closely by canoli with vanilla custard.
J: A leche flan – it’s a Filipino version of crème caramel and it brings back many memories of home!
Sashi and Shelja, thanks for sharing!
